Choosing a great hotel when you’re on a trip to in Monterey, CA isn’t typically easy, because you will find so much choice! Certainly, you can decide upon something out of the same Monterey guide that everyone and their friend has consulted for the last five years, but that does not mean you’ll have a very positive experience (actually, it’d nearly guarantee a bad one!). Great service, great location, comfortable beds, lovely balconies, nice valet team. We didn’t face the ocean, but everything about this place was still spot on perfect.
It was great to get up each morning and take two steps outside to be on the bike/running trail. And it was also great to take two steps outside and be at Baywood Cellars. Oh, and Cannery Row too, but especially the running path and Baywood.
It was that kind of trip.

Don’t be fooled by the plain exterior. This place is amazing!!
A beautiful spacious room, fireplace, patio, clean, friendly service, very nice without being pretentious…I think you get the picture.

We stayed here for my birthday weekend. We chose the hotel to but in the proximity of the Plaza but at a much cheaper price. We got an ocean view room with a balcony and fireplace. The room was fairly large and the views were incredible. We keep the doors open to hear the water at night, so magical.
The front desk was very helpful, they helped with dinner reservations at the Chart House scoring us an awesome ocean view table and free dessert.
I will definitely stay here again, you get a lot for your money as compared to the other local hotels.

If you’re going to stay in a hotel, you would want to get the best service possible. When your budget permits, why wouldn’t you choose a five-star hotel? What does it really mean when we say five-star? The star ratings act as your guide when determining the quality and the service of a hotel. The rating is can be generally given by a private organization, a travel or hotel association, consumer travel groups and websites or even by the hotel itself. In some other countries like Italy, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland, they have a national standard which is authorized by law or by their respective national hotel associations. A five-star rating is usually the best rating that a hotel can receive. It is considered as the most expensive and elegant choice for accommodations.
